You're now ready to send out the Icebreakers – yay! Here's how to invite your team to answer the Icebreakers, at any time...

Our Icebreaker asks questions around two areas:

(1) "Fun Facts," light-hearted questions that help everyone else get to know each other. For example: "Where did you grow up?”

(2) "Work Preferences," insightful questions that reveal each person's working style. For example: "How you prefer to receive feedback?"

You'll want to make sure the Icebreaker questions are best suited for your team. To do this, visit the "Icebreakers" page on the lefthand navigation toolbox, and click, "Customize the questions here":

Then, you can edit, delete, or add new Icebreaker questions as you'd like:

We recommend answering the Icebreaker, yourself, first to show your team that it's something that you'll be actively participating in. Plus, it's fun for them to get to know you a little better 😀

To answer the Icebreaker yourself, click, "View the Icebreaker Survey" and add your answers:

To send the Icebreaker out to the rest of your team, you'll want to first go back to the "Icebreakers" page by clicking the tool in the left-hand nav:

Then, you'll want to click on the "..." icon in the top right-hand corner, and select "Invite people to answer Icebreaker":

Here, you can invite your team to answer the Icebreaker. You'll want to select all the team members who you'd like to receive it:

Then, you'll want to make sure the message that's sent explaining the Icebreaker is in place. To do this, select from the templates, "Welcome message" and we'll automatically have your message be about welcoming them to KYT and kicking off the Icebreaker 🎩:

The Icebreaker will be attached to the bottom of the welcome email you send. Note that the Icebreaker is automatically sent out via email or Slack or every single time you add someone new to KYT.

The email will be sent out within 15 minutes or so.
